Cascata Bistro’s First Years

Coho Salmon and Linguine Arabiatta

Dinner in the Cascata Bistro Sunroom

Its time to sit down and reflect on the past few years since we decided to open our little gem. Cascata Bistro. It has been quite a few years. It really is every bit as hard as they say to build a business in this industry from the ground up.   It took us this long just to get to “blogging”

Thanks to so many of our “Cascata Bistro family members” and more and more new faces everyday, we are growing strong. We love the relationships we are building with the community as we use mostly fundraisers and community events to market ourselves.

We are going to start to blog a bit with fun ideas and cool things that are happening with Cascata Bistro.

This summer was quite the explosion for us. All the seeds we have planted over the years are really growing. We have certainly got the attention of some. Check out some of the great stuff being written about us.

Last summer, Burlington Foodies came for a visit. We are farm to table, local and independent. All of which caught the eye of Michael Williams, founder of Burlington Foodies. We were so pleased to see them on our patio, even if the power did go out! What an interesting night. Here is what they had to say.

We also caught the attention of the Globe and Mail. They asked us to be featured in “Who Owns That?” We had a fun interview with them.

With all the buzz, The Hamilton Spec caught wind and sent a silent diner out one day this summer. Brilliant review by Amy Kenny. We loved how she picked up on all the details that make us who we are. Have a read!

We also had amazing fun cooking for Go Cooking Hamilton.  We will likely join that group again. Have a peek at what we made for that cooking event.

Some other community favourites that we were pleased to be a part of include Waterdown Farmer’s Market, Chili Fest for the Flamborough Woman’s Resource Centre and YMCA Spin for Kids along with many local charities.

We are so proud of the team! Very exciting times ahead indeed. Road trip next week with Kim, Rosie, Donna and Angela. Our ongoing quest to find local suppliers and learn what is new in our industry…. Stay tuned ….
